Cookies are small files a site stores in your browser. Calcutta Country Club keeps its use of cookies minimal. We always set the two strictly necessary cookies described below, and we set analytics cookies (Google Analytics 4) only after you accept them in our consent banner.

Essential cookies

These cookies are required for the Service to function — to keep you signed in and to securely tie a browser to the team it is allowed to bid for. They are not used for advertising and cannot be turned off while using the Service.

Commissioner session cookie

• Name: better-auth.session_token
• Purpose: keeps a commissioner securely signed in to their account and organization between requests.
• Type: essential, first-party, HTTP-only.

Bidder team cookie

• Name: team:{tournamentId} (one per tournament you join)
• Purpose: after you claim a team, this signed cookie binds your browser to that one team within that one tournament, so only you can place its bids. No account or password is involved.
• Type: essential, first-party, HTTP-only and cryptographically signed. It stores a team identifier and a signature — no personal details.
• Lifetime: up to 30 days.

Analytics cookies (consent required)

With your consent, we use Google Analytics 4 (provided by Google LLC) to measure aggregate traffic, conversion funnels, and how the product is used so we can improve it. Google Analytics sets the first-party cookies below. They are not set until you accept analytics cookies in our consent banner — analytics storage is denied by default (Google Consent Mode v2), so if you decline or ignore the banner, no Google Analytics cookies are written. You can change your choice at any time through the banner.

• Name: _ga and _ga_* (per-property)
• Purpose: distinguish visitors and sessions to produce aggregate usage and funnel statistics. We do not send Google any personal details such as names or email addresses, and ads personalization is off.
• Type: analytics, first-party. Set only after you accept analytics cookies.
• Retention: we configure Google Analytics event data retention to 14 months; the cookies themselves typically last up to two years until they expire or you clear them.

What we don’t use

We do not use advertising cookies or third-party cross-site tracking cookies, and we do not sell your information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. Alongside the consent-gated Google Analytics cookies above, we also use a privacy-friendly, cookieless analytics service (Vercel Analytics) for a baseline view of aggregate traffic — it sets no cookies and does not track you across sites. If our use of cookies changes, we will update this page and, where required, ask for your consent before setting any non-essential cookie.

Managing cookies

You can accept or decline analytics cookies at any time using our consent banner; declining means no Google Analytics cookies are set. You can also clear or block cookies in your browser settings. Because the two essential cookies above are required, blocking them will prevent you from signing in or placing bids.
